I've heard of people going to the library and looking at 3 month old newspapers in the FSBO section. They then call all the listings and ask if the house has sold. If not, there's a good chance the seller is motivated! Seems like it would be fairly time-intensive, but its cheap and it may be worth it if you could uncover a few deals. What do you all think of this strategy?
