I was hoping you could settle a question of mine. I have been looking into purchasing a tax sale property but I am getting conflicting answers about existing mortgages on sale properties. When a property is sold via a tax sale is the new owner responsible for any existing mortgages on the property? I live in Ontario if that makes a difference.
