Edit
i have been trying to transfer some of my workplace pensions into my self directed account to create a mortgage. i know this can be done but the bank is not excited about doing this kind of business. the bank wants me to buy mutual funds like everbody else. they are dragging thier feet to get the money transferred. the bank keeps telling me the fees for doing this type of deal is not worth it. i think otherwise. i will figure this out and use my own money that is sitting in some stupid mutual fund account. i will keep you posted.
