| How to find out how much owed on a mortgage? |  | ||

My husband and I are new at this. We are wanting to purchase a home. Found out from the realtor that the owner would possibly be willing to accept what he owes on the home. We have been told that this is public information. How/where can we find out how much is owed on the home in order to be in a good position to negotiate a deal? The realtor is not an option for this info. Thanks so much! hperry |
