As a Christian businessman, I believe in tithing. When we sell a property, the money (profit) goes into the corporate account. In order for me to tithe the profit, I have to first take the money out of the corporation, pay FICA's 15%, Federal & State tax, then tithe and then deduct it from my personal taxes at the end of the year. My question is this: can I instruct my attorney to take 10% of the proceeds and cut a check directly to my church, showing the church on the seller's side of the HUD-1?
