Edit
Q+A with a 'Bandit'

Q: Why do you use bandit signs in you marketing if they are illegal?
A: We use Bandit Signs because they are profitable to us.

Q: Aren't those signs dangerous when they are placed in the 'public right of way'?
A: No. Bandits who actually want to get calls put their signs at traffic lights only. Why? Because it is IMPOSSIBLE to copy a number while driving. We have tested it. So again, no I don’t it is dangerous to have someone copy a phone number with they are stopped and waiting for a green light.

Q: Do you feel bad about 'littering', I mean what happens to your signs when they come down?
A: Again the answer is dependant on returns. When I hang a sign I want it there for good. Believe me when I say none of my signs come down on their own. In fact local homeowners can be counted on to remove every last sign.(Again tested with tens of thousands of signs) In fact the whole system would create far less waste if the homeowners just left them up.

Q: Doesn't it bother you that your signs are unattractive and that some people find them derogatory
A: Well think of it as a question of priority. How much do I care about a contingent of yuppies that are too stuck up to realize some of their neighbors are in dire enough straits to warrant financial help? Do I care about miffing three people off to save one from foreclosure...or ten? No.

Q: Aren't some neighborhoods 'affluent' enough to be 'above' foreclosure?
A: If I get leads on 15 Million dollar beachfront homes in Oahu being foreclosed on then they probably happen in your neighborhood too.

Q: How can we keep bandit signs off of our streets?
A: Remember its not personal, it's based on profits. If you can manage to make the process so expensive that it becomes unprofitable the signs will end. However with that said the chance of that occurring are VERY low and here’s why:
1) Levy fines against 'Bandits' First of all who is going to levy the fines? The police? Maybe in suburban areas where they have nothing better to do, but definitely NOT in cities where their efforts will be better spend chasing unproductive parts of society, like killers, thieves, and dealers.

2) Now even if the city could levy fines the economics still come into play. I cannot speak for all businesses, but I can describe the economics of Real Estate. Every "customer"(deal in RE speak) we acquire is worth $30,000.00(Not a typo) or MORE to us, so we can spend $1000.00 per call!(NOT PER SIGN) to acquire leads on a breakeven basis. Now how could a government levy a three to five thousand dollar fine PER SIGN! with a straight face? The answer is they couldn’t. No not because it isn't a good idea, but because they used them to get elected.
