The question is really not whether the county will pay your 18% since the county is not the redeeming party. The question is if the delinquent property owner will come back and have enough interest in the property to save it. Situations such as those make the liklihood of redemption much less. I have always suggested a detailed review the zoning and property classification before purchasing. Depending on your goals you should research accordingly. I am going to post a very substantive research article for those who need some help in this area.
